2007 NCAREMS Convention
Gates County Rescue & EMS traveled to Hickory June 21-25, 2007 to attend the 51st annual North Carolina Association of Rescue & EMS Convention.  While there five teams competed, all bring home a trophy.  Mr. Durwood Evans also competed in the Durwood Evans Classic, his team winning first place.  All in attendance had a great trip and enjoyed the chance compete and have a good time.

Junior BLS Team 2, Sarah Blanchard and Savannah Kenney also assess their patient.  Team 2 won 2nd place.  Both team members were competing for the first time.

5th Place Rescue Challenge Team consisting of Billy Winn and Mike Tinkham race against the clock to rescue their victim.
Rescue Challenge Team 2, Bubba Pauley and Kevin Eure show off their 2nd place trophy. 
The Heavy Competition Team had to remove a victim from an industrial accident with an auger blade on his foot inside of a hole.  The team was awarded 5th Place.
Chief Billy Winn was awarded the William F. Osbourne Oustanding Chief Award.  Pictured is Winn with his family, Casey, Evan and Anita.
